So now everyone in the whole world is ‘washing our hands’ way more frequently than most people used to, here are my thoughts on where to buy Skin Friendly Hand wash, Soap and Hand Sanitiser

How to Wash Your Hands:

The Pro’s of Washing Hands

It is quite something, and very lucky for us, that SOAP is able to kill the Corona Virus which thrives on the surface of human skin.

Quite simply, soap dissolves the fat membrane surrounding the virus and it falls apart, so this is completely EFFECTIVE in killing CoronaVirus.

… Yet, once someone is infected with the virus, there are no drugs to help you kill it!

The MISSION is to Prevent the spread of CoronaVirus by Hand Washing

Here’s a great article which expands upon the science if you are interested: The science of soap โ€“ hereโ€™s how it kills the coronavirus

Hand Sanitisers with a 60% alcohol content can be used to combat the CoronaVirus in the absence of soap, but they are not as effective as hand washing. You really need to soak the virus in ethanol for a moment to kill it, and rubbing this into your hands will often not cover all the surface with enough, but, it’s better than nothing!
Be generous with your hand sanitiser it if it is all you have available when on-the-go!

The Cons of Washing Hands

The problem with washing your hands a lot, is that your skin can get very dry, and the oils and chemicals that kill the bacteria can strip your skin of their natural oils and disrupt your normal skin pH.

So using a natural soap, meaning one derived from plants and chemical free, often with moisturising properties will save you from hands that feel like sandpaper.

Below you’ll find some of my favourites, all of which I have used, so don’t hesitate to ask in the comments if you have any questions about them!

Rich in skin-beneficial nutrients, almond oil can help deeply cleanse skin of dirt and debris while it nourishes.
NO Parabens
NO Formaldehyde

These products leave out some inexpensive fragrance boosters and preservatives that many other brands rely on. Phthalates, formaldehyde, and parabens, while cheap and widely used, may also be associated with safety concerns. Sun Valley seeks out and uses effective, more natural alternatives.

Naturally derived aloe vera and glycerin combine with gentle cleansers to offer you unparalleled luxury. So you see why I’d choose a natural, chemical free hand soap, hand wash or hand sanitiser EVERYTIME!

Happy Hand-washing!

      Hello,

My sister is smugly telling everyone she knows that ‘Wash your hands properly’ is exactly what she’s been telling people to do for years!

Who’d have thought that in 2020 we’d be teaching everyone to wash their hands properly.

But, nice snappy little song to get us washing well.

        Hi Joy,

๐Ÿ˜‚ It is funny, you’re right!! I wonder how many people never knew how to wash their hands properly! Obviously not your sister’s contacts!!
        Yes, a jolly song ๐Ÿ˜

Good’ole soap and water is the absolute best. Making sure you wash for 20 sec. or more is important too.

      • Jacs

        Hi Lesly,

I quite agree! Interesting how this most basic of habits is the best defence for this virus ๐Ÿ˜Š

All that washing is tough on your hands. I put coconut oil on them after each wash to make sure they don’t dry out.

        Hi Rosemary,

Yes, many soaps can be drying, and hand sanitiser is certainly not my favourite! I have some lovely moisturising ones I recommend but certainly something natural like coconut oil is lovely to use, dry or not lol!!

        Thanks for visiting ๐Ÿ˜
